Nicole Taylor, PhD : Co-President
Nicole Taylor, PhD is an Assistant Professor in the Education Department at Spelman College. Nicole has a work history in the field of education from teaching elementary school, to being a Reading Research Intervention teacher, to higher education where she currently teaches and prepares future educators. Committed to promoting family literacy and family engagement through her scholarship, this extends to her personal life as a wife and a mother of two children at Nickajack. She looks forwarding to serving the Nickajack community!
Elinor Negron: Co-President
Originally born in Trinidad, moved to Connecticut at the age of 15 with her parents and brother. She worked in the IT field for 8 years, testing software for retail registers, where she met her husband of 13 years and counting. After getting married, they transferred to Georgia with his job where she decided to stay at home with the kids. She is the proud mom of 5 children (4 girls, 1 boy) and a grandmother of 1, and has been a Nickajack parent for 13 years, with her oldest being the fifth grade class of 2006, and has volunteered in various capacities during that time. She currently has a 22 year old, a high school senior at Campbell, an 8th and 6th grader at Griffin, a 4th Grader at Nickajack and substitutes at Nickajack or volunteers in the office.
I have seen many changes at Nickajack, every single one for the better. I truly believe that this is a partnership in creating the environment we wish for our children to be in, one where they flourish and exceed all of our hopes and dreams for them. I look forward to working with Administration, and staff to keep making Nickajack an amazing school.

Ruth Kennedy : Treasurer
Ruth Kennedy is a Controller for Tensar Corporation. She’s divorced with 2 boys, ages 8 and 6, both Nickajack students. Ruth also is a Rodan & Fields Skincare Consultant and is passionate about using sunscreen every day and raising awareness for skin cancer. She loves reading, gardening, watching baseball and soccer, and riding scooters & big wheels with her boys.

I am a 3rd grade special education teacher. I have been at Nickajack Elementary for 5 years now. I graduated with my undergrad and master’s degree from Kennesaw State University. I look forward to being a teacher liaison for the PTA!
